In Memoriam of:

Yuval Buyom

Age: 21

From: Kfar Azza

In Loving Memory of the Innocent Souls Taken Too Soon. United in peace, their light shines on in the hearts left behind. October 7, 2023, a day of sorrow, but their memories guide us toward a hopeful tomorrow.

Yuval Buyom, z"l, from Kfar Aza, was murdered in the Hamas terrorist attack.

One obituary of him reads:

"I scream from my stomach
Why specifically you????!!! Why exactly you, my pure child, my angel, how much light you spread to all of us and it is precisely you who are gone. Why?!? In this damned place that made you post-traumatic anyway, this is where you were murdered
Together with you, your whole world will burn
All notebooks are scores by Bach, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Yoni Rechter and Matti Caspi
All the new songs you wrote and composed
your piano
my heart is screaming
I don't know how to start writing to tell what you are to me. I knew your name before I knew you because in the Shaar HaNegev studio they never stopped praising your name, "the Mozart of the envelope". We connected somewhere in the 11th during the jazz group's delegation to Germany. I couldn't believe that a 15-year-old boy could play with such intelligence. Little by little we connected and shared jokes and silly humor - the most beloved kind in the Gaza village "Einval, what would your name be if you were an acorn?" You sat there with a huge smile waiting to hear my answer, I threw out all kinds of clever options until you answered me "If you were an acorn, Your name is Einbal the Acorn" and they burst out laughing until their stomachs hurt. Fine humor of Kfar Aza. deleted How we used to laugh together. Over time we connected in music, I in flute and singing and you hold it all together with the piano.
At the studio at the Negev Gate they immediately knew that they had a tremendous phenomenal phenomenon and you become a piano teacher, only 21 years old, and the most talented there is. Even my mother started studying with you. She only had time to study with you for three lessons. Don't worry, she assures you that she will keep practicing.
In the last two years you have faced and overcome challenging personal crises. I was so proud to see you get stronger. There is no way to describe our hugs that lasted at least five whole minutes every time we met in the famous pub (out of two or so) of the Otaf, the Green. No kidding, this happened to us at least 20 times when we happened to meet in a pub - the happiness we both had and the huge love that was in our embrace is something rare that cannot be explained in words. How loved I felt in your hands and I know you felt the same in my arms.
How every time we met and there was a piano around it was just obvious to both of us that we were going to sing our songs that we have been playing over and over for at least 5 years. Never get tired of hearing your divine hands stiff on the piano.
Why you?!
I am sure that everyone who has lost asks themselves this question that has no answer.
I feel that after people die we get to know them better. You rack your brain to bring up every little memory that was ever with you, running it over and over in your head just so that no memory escapes. Thinking about you and discovering more and more how special you are.

I feel you and your warmth and your smile and you will accompany me in every way I walk in life. I swear to you that my first child will be named Yuval.
You are forever engraved in my heart my dear and beloved friend. Rest in peace. I swear to you that we will continue to live and be happy and laugh and play and sing as I'm sure you would want. An endless parametre over a jarring minor chord. You know what I'm talking about.
Your music will echo in our hearts forever. Your song is not over yet.
Love you from here to infinity
Inbal the acorn."
