In Memoriam of:

Yitzhak Zeiger

Age: 57

From: Shavei Shomron

In Loving Memory of the Innocent Souls Taken Too Soon. United in peace, their light shines on in the hearts left behind. October 7, 2023, a day of sorrow, but their memories guide us toward a hopeful tomorrow.

Yitzhak Zeiger, z"l, 57, a resident of Shavei Shomron, was one of two victims of the deadly terror attack at a gas station near Eli, on Thursday evening (29 February). The terrorist drew into the gas station in a stolen car and started shooting at Zeiger’s car while he was refueling. Zeiger and a passenger were both hit by the assailant’s bullets. Zeiger had time to pull out his gun to return fire but was killed by the terrorist's fire. The terrorist, who was identified as a member of the Palestinian Authority security forces, was shot and killed by the owner of the restaurant at the gas station. Magen David paramedics quickly arrived on the scene but were unable to revive Zeiger, who succumbed to his wounds. Zeiger, who had recently completed reserve military duty in Gaza, was an employee of the Bezeq Telecommunication Corporation, and a volunteer with the Israel Police, ZAKA search and rescue and other organizations. He was laid to rest on Friday (1 March) at the Jerusalem cemetery in a funeral ceremony attended by thousands. He is survived by his wife, three sons and two grandsons.
