In Memoriam of:
Yitzchak Ben Bashet
Age: 44
In Loving Memory of the Innocent Souls Taken Too Soon. United in peace, their light shines on in the hearts left behind. October 7, 2023, a day of sorrow, but their memories guide us toward a hopeful tomorrow.
Among those killed in the battle were Lt. Col. Yitzhak Ben Bashet (44) from Sde Ya'akov, commander of the Golani Brigade. "The head of the Jezreel Valley Regional Council, its residents and employees are shocked, grieving and pained by the death of Lt. Col. Yitzhak Ben Bashet of Sheda Ya'akov," said the Jezreel Valley Regional Council. "Yitzhak, a resident of Sde Ya'akov, left behind a wife and four children. We embrace and support the dear Ben Bashet family and the community of Sde Ya'akov at this difficult time and share in their deep sorrow." His friend Michael eulogized him: "Refuses to believe this chilling news. Yitzhak ben Bashet 'Benba', I will forever remember you as a beloved and pleasant person and a warrior in the soul. May your soul rest in Heaven." The head of the Kiryat Tivon council Ido Greenblum said: "The late Benba came from the Egoz and Golani unit. He commanded us as a training and operations commander, commander of the Golani squadron, and later in a variety of brigadier general positions throughout the army. Honest as a leader, striving for the goal, cynical and smiling. After a 15-year hiatus, we met when the family moved to Sde Ya'akov and Neve came for a cup of coffee. He brought his son to us to the Meitarim school. He said to me with a smile, 'My children will enter Meitarim, I will do anything. You are great, but let's do it well - it's a shame that I will give you a direct order'. Yitzhak Ben Bashet - a beloved and loving man, a Zionist who loves the land, a warrior in his soul. We will remember you A big hug to Adar and the children."
