In Memoriam of:

Yinon Tamir

Age: 20

From: Pardes Hanna-Karkur

In Loving Memory of the Innocent Souls Taken Too Soon. United in peace, their light shines on in the hearts left behind. October 7, 2023, a day of sorrow, but their memories guide us toward a hopeful tomorrow.

Yinon Tamir, z"l, 20, from Pardes Hanna-Karkur, served as a soldier in the Paratroopers Brigade’s 890th Battalion. He fell in battle in the Gaza Strip.
Yinon's older brother has been in reserve service in the Givati Brigade since October 7 and went on a break last night. The brother had time to call his mother and inform her that he was in Israel, and then he heard about the fall of his younger brother. "It's a heavy grief, we don't realize what a disaster has befallen us," the family members said.
"Everyone loved him very much, believed in him," said the uncle. "How much we begged him to go to something less combative, to try to take advantage of his wisdom. He went to pre-military "mechina" in the south Golan Heights and was looking to invest and get into a paratrooper patrol or another elite patrol. He was motivated, that's where he aspired to be"
Yinon's grandfather, Yom Tov Tamir, who serves as a Brigadier General (res.) spoke of his grandson: "Yinon was truly something exceptional. The heart is broken. I've seen a lot fall under me, from my side and above me - but it's different when it comes to your home. I never dreamed that I would get to such a conversation, and here it happened"
