In Memoriam of:

Yeftah Twig

Age: 27

From: Azariah

In Loving Memory of the Innocent Souls Taken Too Soon. United in peace, their light shines on in the hearts left behind. October 7, 2023, a day of sorrow, but their memories guide us toward a hopeful tomorrow.

Yeftah Twig, z"l, from Azariah, was murdered at the Nova nature party in the process of trying to protect other attendees from the Hamas terrorists. Yeftah is survived by parents, Shosh and Meir, and brothers Rami, Sivan, and Keren.

After the carnage began, he hid in one of the two containers of lumpy waste with some other attendees. Around 1PM (when Yeftah's mother far from the scene felt a premonition of a terrible stomach ache), a terrorist entered the container and started shooting at the people inside. Yeftaf, apparently during a struggle, jumped into the second container, lay down on top of the people, and when the terrorist entered the second container, Yeftah blocked most of the bullets with his body, according to the survivors from that containeer.

According to Yeftah's older sister, Karen, Yeftah always surrounded himself with friends, made sure they came to work with him. Yeftah traveled with Ben to Budapest at a moment's notice, only because Dor called from there and invited them to join. Yiftah worked 12 hours a day, slept 3 hours, and the rest of the time he was with the friends group. Yiftah was self-taught, resourceful, and had a huge heart. Already at a young age, he started a business and was very successful in it. He had friends from the entire Israeli spectrum that exists. He touched everyone he met. Many people came to us and told us 'Yeftah was my best friend - you don't understand how much he helped me."

Yeftah's father, Meri, tells how even in school, Yeftah was always the smart one. He learned everything by himself. In the army, he was a fighter. He made a 60 kilometer beret march. He, at the age of 27, was a businessman, working in event production. He once said to me, 'Dad, what are the tools? these?' And filled my pantry with a new set of tools. He always helped. He didn't want us to worry about him. He didn't want to be a burden."
