Sgt. 1st Class (res.) Yakir Hexter, z"l, 26, of Jerusalem served in then 8219 Combat Engineering Battalion, 551st (Hetzei Ha-Esh/Arrows of Fire) Paratroopers Brigade. He fell in combat in the southern Gaza Strip.
