In Memoriam of:

Yacovi Yanon

Age: 78

From: Netiv HaAsara

In Loving Memory of the Innocent Souls Taken Too Soon. United in peace, their light shines on in the hearts left behind. October 7, 2023, a day of sorrow, but their memories guide us toward a hopeful tomorrow.

Yacovi Yanon, z"l, of Netiv HaAsara, was killed in his home together with his wife Belha, by a direct rocket hit from Gaza on the morning of October 7th.

The Yanon couple, parents of five children, three daughters and two sons and grandparents to 11 grandchildren, were the living spirit of the family. Both are members of the Rohama and Nir Am kibbutzim. About 30 years ago, they moved to Netiv Hatara, the closest settlement to the Gaza Strip. They both loved nature and the land so much that they ordered a wooden house from the United States, which is covered with plastic, an economical and ecological house that was built in a month. Because the house was made of wood, it burned down completely, only the roof remained of it.

Hi son, Maoz tells about his parents who always contributed to others and loved people without distinction. "Father had very good friends from the Bedouin society in the south. To this day we receive condolence calls from the entire Arab society and this is what comforts us."
