Sgt. 1st Class Urija Bayer, z"l, 20, of Ma'alot-Tarshiha served in the elite Maglan Unit, Commando Brigade. He succumbed to wounds on 17 December, after being severely wounded in combat in the southern Gaza Strip on 14 December.
