Please forward this message to the family of Somkuan Pansa-ard
Shalom,
My name is Gayle Saxe, and I live in Cape Town, South Africa. I am a member of the South African Zionist Federation Cape Council.
On October 7th, as part of our memorial service honouring the victims of the horrific massacre, we held a ceremony in which candles were lit in memory of those whose lives were so tragically taken. During the service, we shared the stories of some of the victims, remembering their lives, their courage, their hopes and dreams, and the families and loved ones who continue to carry their memories in their hearts.
Your beloved family member, Somkuan Pansa-ard, was chosen to be remembered during this special and deeply moving ceremony. Together with another member of the South African Zionist Federation Cape Council, we had the honour of lighting a candle in his memory and speaking about his life and the tragic loss of a life that meant so much to those who knew and loved him.
It was a privilege to honour Somkuan and share his memory with our community in Cape Town. Through this meaningful act of remembrance, we hoped to acknowledge the profound loss suffered by his family and loved ones and to ensure that his name was remembered with dignity, compassion, and respect.
Although we could never fully comprehend the depth of your family's pain and sorrow, we wanted you to know that Somkuan was remembered, that his life mattered, and that his memory would not be forgotten. Even across continents and cultures, we are united in our shared humanity and in our determination to remember every innocent life lost in this terrible tragedy.
May you and your entire family be given strength and comfort during this time of profound sorrow. May you have healing to your hearts and may you be surrounded with love and support, and find moments of peace amid your grief. May you know no more sadness, and may you and your family be blessed with long life, good health, strength, and better days ahead.
With heartfelt condolences and deepest respect,
Gayle Saxe
