Shani Amin

Today I went to The Nova exhibition. I was told a very moving story from a mother that has lost her daughter due to terrorists intruding on The Nova festival and violently murdering her daughter. The mother continued to say that when they first pronounced her daughter as dead she was in denial. The mother knew even though it was hard at some point she had to accept that her daughter was now gone. She did not choose to accept that all of the tragic events didn't happen. The mother was so moved by this happening that she wanted to help make an impact. She stated “if i can do it so can you.” Which made me feel determined. I was so moved by her speech but I wanted to speak to her personally. I went up to her and she proceeded to say that “all the humans as a nation should stay strong” She then hugs me and says “I currently can't hug my daughter so now I'm hugging you,go make an impact”. As I hug her tears stream down my face I look behind her and I see a Picture of a young girl I then later read the caption. “Shani amin: She was murdered at the "Nova" music festival in Kibbutz Reim by Hamas terrorists. Shani z"l came to the party with her friend, Adam Ilive, who was also murdered at the party. Shani Amin, daughter of Nir and Merav, sister of Idan, Shira and Tahel and granddaughter of the respected journalist Ami Kalfon.” As I read this and thought about how much her family was affected I decided that I wanted to do something about it. I wanted to show that Shani Amin Memory still stands. I read about her that she loved to smile and always brought light where she goes and when I looked at her picture I could tell that she already brought light to my face. Rest in peace Shani Amin we will always remember you and keep you in mind.
