In Loving Memory of the Innocent Souls Taken Too Soon. United in peace, their light shines on in the hearts left behind. October 7, 2023, a day of sorrow, but their memories guide us toward a hopeful tomorrow.
Staff Sergeant Shahar Cohen Mivtach, 22, served as a soldier in the 9th Armor Battalion, 401st Brigade. Shachar fell in combat in northern Gaza.
In September he went on discharge leave in preparation for the end of his military service in November, but immediately after the massacre in the south on October 7, Shahar was jumped back into the regiment and killed in battle. Shahar was the eldest son of Erez and Shira. His father is a veterinarian and his mother is a social worker who deals with loss and bereavement. He left behind his brother Roni (10) and sister Daria (17). Shahar, was a die-hard fan of Maccabi Haifa's football team.
The previous week he managed to mark a year of his relatioship with his girlfriend Hodaya.
