In Memoriam of:
In Loving Memory of the Innocent Souls Taken Too Soon. United in peace, their light shines on in the hearts left behind. October 7, 2023, a day of sorrow, but their memories guide us toward a hopeful tomorrow.
"I knew the late Sahar very well," says Brigadier General (res.) Nati Cohen, former Lieutenant Colonel. "He stayed for the second holiday at the base, and was on standby. In his life, as in his death, he was a hero, attacking the terrorists and protecting the base soldiers."
Mahloof served in one of the two existing IT tracks - the technological and the operational. The technological track is intended for engineers and software professionals of all kinds. The operational route, in which he served, is intended for IT personnel who grow in the field - in battalions, brigades and divisions. Thus, among his duties in the military service, Mahloof served as the commander of the ICT department of the 601st Battalion of Combat Engineering. Before his current position, he was the commander of the Amirim Battalion (376) in the Hoshan unit of the ICT and Cyber Defense Division.
Brigadier General (res.) Cohen said that: "Sahar was an exceptional officer, a professional and a gentleman. We lost one of the best officers we have in the force. He was a promising officer, whose future path was supposed to lead him to the position of Lieutenant Colonel for sure and perhaps in the future - to the position of lieutenant colonel. He was a beloved and admired commander, a professional and humble."
Yossi Alfia, his friend in the service, added that "he was an asset to the army in every way - from accepting the mission to its execution. Sahar was a man of the highest order, a man of great values, who committed himself to every mission and carried out what was assigned to him in a strict and uncompromising manner. He made sure that every His tasks are done and he does not neglect any task of one kind or another."
Last year, Sahar received a certificate of appreciation from the president of the country, Yitzhak Herzog, after his battalion was selected as an outstanding reserve unit.
