In Memoriam of:
In Loving Memory of the Innocent Souls Taken Too Soon. United in peace, their light shines on in the hearts left behind. October 7, 2023, a day of sorrow, but their memories guide us toward a hopeful tomorrow.
Roy Monder, z"l, from Kibbutz Metzer, was murdered in Nir Oz. His family couldn't attend the funeral as they were kidnapped to Gaza: his parents, sister Keren and her son, Ohad (who turned 9 in Gaza captivity).
This was said in Roy's obituary:
"Roi was born in May 1973 just before the Yom Kippur War, grew up in a utopian, optimistic and verdant world, next to endless farming fields in a promising country that on the day of the test was a disappointment. They say you don't choose a family, Monder chose two in his childhood, the Maccabi Netanya family and the Liverpool family (which in recent days acts as a stepmother). This choice accompanied him throughout his life, which was interrupted at one point by the murderers of Bani Baliel." "Roi, known as "Monder" among the fans of Netanya and Liverpool, was a center of knowledge and Urim and Tomis in quite a few topics of conversation among the fans, which made him well-known and significant and above all lovable. Monder , we never thought how topical that sweeping fan song would be, "In the most difficult moments we will never leave, for better or for worse I swear until death in yellow, because I only want you Netanya, always going and singing just for you, I will give my life for you." Roy was murdered , his parents, his sister and his 9-year-old nephew Ohad were abducted to Gaza, in the illusory, sad, difficult reality that we have been living in for 16 days, there is no one who sat on Shabbat. The extended family will sit, but there is no person who according to Judaism is obliged to keep Shabbat because they are kidnapped. The closest to the shepherds They didn't attend the funeral because they were kidnapped. Where do you hear such a thing?? In what world is a person corrected whose family can't pay their last respects because they are kidnapped?"
