In Memoriam of:
In Loving Memory of the Innocent Souls Taken Too Soon. United in peace, their light shines on in the hearts left behind. October 7, 2023, a day of sorrow, but their memories guide us toward a hopeful tomorrow.
Corporal Rotem Kotz, z"l, was murdered in her Kibbutz Kfar Aza family home along with her entire family: mother Livnat and father Aviv, as well as brothers Yonatan (16 y.o.) and Yiftach (14 y.o.). The rescuers found the entire family dead, hugging in bed, with the parents covering the children from above.
Rotem served in the Telecommunications Division, rookie platoon headquarters in BHD 7. On October 7th, she was visiting family for Simchat Torah.
Rotem's commander wrote in her eulogy:
"Rotem wanted more than anything to be a mechanic and despite being offered many roles like a pilot, she chose to engage with people.
Rotem wanted to get to Bahad 7, and so it was. Rotem quickly entered the hearts of all of us. From the first moment she arrived, her broad smile landed on us all. Rotem commanded two cycles with dedication, facing firmly challenges and positiveness that characterizes her.
Rotem was an anchor to her faculty, Tamir her M.M. says that he felt like she was completely his daughter. Rotem dreamed of becoming a commander in the attorney's course and then becoming an official, and therefore was so excited to find out that she was allowed and could begin realizing a dream that we will be killed by the cruel murderers. Rotem was also talented in her civil life - she sewed bathing suits and made cakes decorated for glory.
Rotem will stay a part of us forever.
May the memory of Rotem and all the Kutz family be blessed."
