In Memoriam of:

Ron Shemer

Age: 23

From: Lod

In Loving Memory of the Innocent Souls Taken Too Soon. United in peace, their light shines on in the hearts left behind. October 7, 2023, a day of sorrow, but their memories guide us toward a hopeful tomorrow.

Ron Shemer, z"l, from Lod, was murdered at the Nova nature party.

The late Ron, who just wanted to celebrate with his friends at a party, ran away from the terrorists, but even after escaping to a shelter in Kibbutz Be'eri, he was killed by a grenade that was thrown at him and his friends by a terrorist.

His mother wrote this obituary:

"Ron my angel 💔 I can talk about you for days and it still won't be enough to tell who you were and what you were. My Ron Haim, the light of my life. An angel on earth. Beautiful inside and out. Your kindness, for your giving, the son you are, the brother, the friend, your smile that melts every heart. Thousands came to accompany you at your funeral and hundreds came to comfort you every day. Friends you have met from all over the world. You loved to travel, you loved to help, you were the glue that connects friends. "You loved the world and it was also important for you to take care of it and spread it. Ron, at the age of 17, represented Israel in the nation as part of young ambassadors. During the Corona, he worked in the Corona laboratory to contribute his part to the global effort. After the army, he volunteered with at-risk youth at a camp in the United States. Ron loved to travel the world and along the way met many people who fell in love with him. Ron could have been saved at the party and run away with some of his friends who were saved but chose to wait for more friends because he cared about them and wanted to get back together with them safely. A friend who survived said that Ron fought until his last breath against the terrorists who captured him and in the end killed him. We miss him and love him very much 💔 Ron was 23 years old when he was murdered 💔"
