In Memoriam of:

Roei Peri

Age: 19

In Loving Memory of the Innocent Souls Taken Too Soon. United in peace, their light shines on in the hearts left behind. October 7, 2023, a day of sorrow, but their memories guide us toward a hopeful tomorrow.

Roie z"l served as fighter in the 13th Shevkhat Golani Battalion. Roie fought with great bravery: "The Platoon Leader divided the soldiers into teams so that they would protect the entrances to the base. When they saw that the amount of terrorists was overwhelming and the chance of stopping them was small, the platoon leader decided that everyone would go into the shelters and divided them into pairs. Roie volunteered first to help him cover for the soldiers of the battalion. The commander, Roie and 2 other soldiers, were killed in a fierce battle defending their comrades who entered the shelter, and thanks to this, the lives of the other soldiers of the battalion were saved.

Remembrances of Roei Peri

A life beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.

Here we celebrate the memories, the joys, and the life of Roei Peri.

My husband Harold Gutovich and I live in Vancouver, Canada. At our community memorial for October 7 at Congregation Schara Tzedeck Synagogue (attended by some 1,400 people in person and many more online), we were each given a card with a person lost that terrible day. I got Roei's card. During the Yizkor portion of the evening, those who were so moved were asked to say the person's name out loud. I just want people there to know that we on the other side of the planet are with you and that Roei's has been honoured here and mourned.
