In Memoriam of:

Omri Ben Shachar

Age: 25

From: Givataim

In Loving Memory of the Innocent Souls Taken Too Soon. United in peace, their light shines on in the hearts left behind. October 7, 2023, a day of sorrow, but their memories guide us toward a hopeful tomorrow.

Omri, z"l, fought in Battalion 6623, 'Hod Hanit', and fell in battle in the south of the Gaza Strip.

Omri was the son of the former mayor of Givatayim, Reuven Ben Shahar and his wife Anat.
Ron Konik, mayor of Givatayim: "Omri was a moral youth, very active in every possible voluntary framework. The pain and sadness of the city's residents is great and enormous. The whole of Givataim participates in the family's heavy mourning.

Lior Makhorish, Omri's partner, told Ynet Live about the person he was, and said that "he was always smiling, and was there for everyone." According to her, "He wanted us to be happy at the funeral and that Avraham Tal would sing. We fulfilled one request - but it is impossible to be happy." Nadav, his twin brother: "We were just like one person"
Lior spole about her great loss, saying that "I lost my life, the love of my life. He was my pillar, my compass, my whole world. It sounds cliché, but Omri was such a special person. During the war, he told me that there was nothing to postpone it and that after the war we would get married. We always said: 'What children we will have.'" She described the person he was, and added: "His smile is what characterized him and he always saw everyone, wherever he was, even those who are usually seen less. He always knew how to make them feel the best.
