In Memoriam of:

Ofir Testa

Age: 21

From: Jerusalem

In Loving Memory of the Innocent Souls Taken Too Soon. United in peace, their light shines on in the hearts left behind. October 7, 2023, a day of sorrow, but their memories guide us toward a hopeful tomorrow.

Corporal Ofir Testa, z"l, from Jerusalem, served in the 77th armored battalion. On October 7th, he was in the first line of defense on the Gaza border and fell in battle trying to hold of the terrorist onslaught. He only enlisted half a year earlier.

According to his uncle: "Ofir was a child of love of the Torah and the country. He didn't enlist until he studied Gemara. He was a soldier of the land, a child of love for the land and the Torah. He was not afraid of anything, he was a child without fear. He always said: 'It is my goal to serve the state. This is the mitzvah.' He was a modest child, doing things in secret without anyone knowing, with humility , modestly."

Ofir grew up and was born in Pisgat Ze'ev, the second of four siblings to his parents Tal and Betty. When he was a boy he studied at Kiryat Nuer in Jerusalem. There he received the concept of 'love of the land' and values. After that he moved to study at a yeshiva in the Golan Heights, and after a year moved to study at a yeshiva in Mitzpe Ramon. When he was called to the IDF, he said: "I need to learn a little more about loving the country in order to serve the country."
