In Memoriam of:
Noam Yosef Abu
Age: 20
From: Dimona
In Loving Memory of the Innocent Souls Taken Too Soon. United in peace, their light shines on in the hearts left behind. October 7, 2023, a day of sorrow, but their memories guide us toward a hopeful tomorrow.
Staff Sergeant Noam Yosef Abu, aged 20 from Dimona, served as a soldier in the Nahal Brigade. Noam fell in battle in the Gaza Strip.
Hodaya Abu, his sister, eulogized him: "You were my angel and my righteous man, I love you and will remember you," she said. "You promised us that you would come back and that it would be okay, the last time I saw you I felt that you were afraid. I want to hug you and not leave."
Sapir Abu, his sister, recounted the conversation before he went to fight in Gaza: "Noam, my beautiful and pure little brother, you promised that you would take care of yourself. You will no longer do Shabbats and holidays with us. Our father and mother are broken. When you would return from the base, you would get up on Shabbat to go to synagogue with father. Two weeks ago, you called me and told me that you were entering Gaza, you consulted me about what to buy your girlfriend Lian as a present. I dreamed about you the day before you came home and surprisingly now you only come in dreams, you will always be with us and accompany us."
Lian Ovadia, Noam's girlfriend, paid tribute to him in tears: "My heart is dying. Your promised you wouldn't leave me, you are the purest and the most beautiful. I wanted so much to marry you, watch over me from above, I love you forever."
