In Memoriam of:

Liron Snir

Age: 25

In Loving Memory of the Innocent Souls Taken Too Soon. United in peace, their light shines on in the hearts left behind. October 7, 2023, a day of sorrow, but their memories guide us toward a hopeful tomorrow.

Capt. Liron Snir, from Ofra, a team commander in the Golani Patrol, Golani Brigade, fell in battle in the northern Gaza Strip, 25 years old in his falling. The son of Moti and Pazit and the grandson of Moshe and Esther Schneider. Liron studied at the Ma'ale Eliyahu yeshiva for three years before enlisting. The head of the Ma'ale Eliyahu yeshiva, Rabbi Haim Gantz, eulogized him: "The yeshiva mourns the difficult news that has come to us. Liron was a scholar who spent every spare moment during his vacations in the yeshiva to absorb more of the Torah and strengthen his friends. Torah, Derech Eretz and love of the people are what led him moving forward in the yeshiva, in the army, and now in the war. We say goodbye to Liron as a hero and give thanks for our privilege to study and live in his presence" Rabbi Avner Zoldan, a rabbi in the yeshiva who was in personal contact with Liron says: "Liron was very close to being released from the IDF and moving to the next stage of establishing a home in Israel. Liron was a man with special qualities about whom the proverb says "He who runs away from honor, honor pursues him" always checked that he did not harm anyone and his progress did not come at the expense of anyone else. All his days in the army he was busy taking care of his soldiers. Only they were before his eyes and all this cost him a personal price of investment in his personal life. Purity of morals and nobility of soul were a candle to his feet, he did everything with greatness and cleanliness. The Yeshiva mourns the fall of one of our best sons."
