In Memoriam of:

Keshet Casarotti Kalfa

Age: 21

From: Kibbutz Samar

In Loving Memory of the Innocent Souls Taken Too Soon. United in peace, their light shines on in the hearts left behind. October 7, 2023, a day of sorrow, but their memories guide us toward a hopeful tomorrow.

Keshet z'"l was killed at the Nova music festival near Kibbutz Re'im.
Keshet spent time with his friends from all over the world at the Nova music festival. Partying was not a new thing for Keshet, who just returned from a summer of music festivals in Europe with the same group. Keshet and his friends already had plans for after the party. They planned to return to his home in Kibbutz Samar in the Arava. Keshet longed to show his friends from the world the kibbutz - to brag about the lush dunes, the date plantation and the barn, things they had never seen before me. "Parties, people, nature, that's what my child likes," says his mother. Rain, floods in the desert, all these will not prevent him from going to his favorite parties."

Per his mother, Natalia, "The moment he was born, and not only because he was handsome. "He had a huge smile and a huge heart from a young age," says Natalia. "If I gave him a chocolate cube, he would insist on giving me half, always happy to help everyone: carry, clear, throw away the clippings. Recently I realized that this attitude of his only got more and more extreme as he grew older. His friends told me that he bought a bottle of whiskey for hundreds of shekels and gave it away Chasers for strangers. He said: 'Why have fun alone when you can have fun together?'. He was also a terribly energetic child. At the age of five he started making merry-go-rounds and would walk on his hands from the house to the dining room. The whole kibbutz thought that this boy should go to the circus. But his biggest dream at that age was to be a pirate. He had a book about pirates that I read him stories from, he had a pirate camp outside the house, and on Purim he of course dressed up as a pirate. In the last two years of his life, Keshet traveled to so many place."

In a moving article, Keshet's mother shared her journey during the first few days of the war, while her son was still missing:
