In Loving Memory of the Innocent Souls Taken Too Soon. United in peace, their light shines on in the hearts left behind. October 7, 2023, a day of sorrow, but their memories guide us toward a hopeful tomorrow.

Born in Be'er Sheva, Deputy Superintendent of the Rahat police station, JR Davidov, z"l, died defending the residents of Kibbutz Ra'aim on the day before his 44th birthday.

JR Davidov is famous for his success in taking down a number of big organized crime organizations and preventing many murders.

His Wikipedia entry reads:

"Davidov was born in Be'er Sheva, and began his service as an officer in the Border Guard , and later served as commander of the police station in Ramat Negev and as an intelligence officer in Be'er Sheva. Already at that time his successes were published.

In 2019, he was appointed commander of the central unit of Lachish, one of the three units that make up the southern district. Leading organized crime organizations existed within the region, including many mafia organizations originating from Russia, Georgia and the Caucasus, as well as leaders of organized crime in Israel. He declared war on the criminal organizations, saw to it that dozens of indictments were filed against high-profile criminals and that they were physically removed from the area. He was in charge of "cracking" dozens of cases, and under his command over 30 murder attempts were thwarted, indictments were filed against dozens of dangerous criminals, some of them very senior, criminals were removed from the southern region for long periods and security and peace was restored to the residents. Considered in the media to be "the terror of organized crime in Israel." In 2021, the central unit under his command was awarded a badge of excellence on behalf of the police commissioner. In December 2022, the chief of police in Rahat was appointed. In 2023 he was appointed to lead the establishment of a new district police unit in the southern district.

Killed the day before his 44th birthday in a shootout with Palestinian terrorists during the Battle of Ra'im during the surprise attack on Israel (2023), after the terrorists broke into Kibbutz Ra'im and murdered several civilians and policemen. Along with him, three other policemen were killed in the battle. Hundreds of people attended his funeral, including the Commissioner of Police and the Minister of National Security. Lived with his family in Be'er Sheva."
