In Memoriam of:

Itay Saadon

Age: 21

From: Har Halutz

In Loving Memory of the Innocent Souls Taken Too Soon. United in peace, their light shines on in the hearts left behind. October 7, 2023, a day of sorrow, but their memories guide us toward a hopeful tomorrow.

Staff Sgt. Itay Saadon, 21, z"l, served as a tank commander in the 401st Armored Brigade’s 52nd Battalion, from Har Halutz. He fell in battle in the Gaza Strip.
Saadon was supposed to go on release leave on October 7 and fly with his friends to Berlin for his release trip. He had already bought plane tickets, but that cursed Sabbath changed his plans and he stayed in the army.

Liat, his mother, eulogized him: "I was privileged to be his mother. He was an amazing boy. His biggest dream was to be a pilot. He was due to be released on November 15, planning to go to Canada to learn to fly. He was busy fulfilling his dream from the age of five. I can't stop thinking that he is in heaven. From the age of five he had a dream and he was not able to fulfill it. He was a tank commander like his grandfather, who fought on Yom Kippur. We laughed that he would be like grandfather, he would continue his legacy and take us to the places where he served and fought. Last Thursday we spoke to him, we reached him, and since then we have had no contact with him.'
