Itamar Cohen

Corporal Itamar Cohen, z"l, from Karmiel, a fighter in the 13th Battalion of the Golani Brigade, 19 years old when he fell. He was killed in an exchange of fire with Hamas terrorists who broke into one of the forward posts on the border of the Gaza Strip on Shabbat, Oct 7. One of his friends told us: "Itamar was a smiling boy, a good boy, always looking for ways to help, he cared about everyone and everything. When he went to training and was accepted to Golani, there was no one happier than him in the world. With his death, we feel that we have lost a part of our body." Family members told us in tears: "The salt of the earth, a pleasant boy, observant, meek, quiet, modest, combined all the worlds, religion and army." A true friend, of whom one could call him a brother, with all his heart, not everyone can be called a brother.'
