Gideon Ilani
In Loving Memory of the Innocent Souls Taken Too Soon. United in peace, their light shines on in the hearts left behind. October 7, 2023, a day of sorrow, but their memories guide us toward a hopeful tomorrow.
Sergeant Major Gideon Ilani, a 35-year-old resident of Asael, was a paratrooper fighter in Battalion 2855, the "Spearhead" design, and the sixth Yerucham Yeshiva graduate to be killed in the "Iron Swords" war. He fell in battle in the Gaza Strip. The head of the Mount Hebron Council eulogized him: "A man of integrity, of values and Zionism, who fell in a heroic battle" With his passing, he left behind his wife, Esther, and six children - Gefen, Maayan, Noam, Hillel, David and Yael. Their family moved from Sderot two years prior. Gideon z"l was a doctoral student in physics at the time of his death.
