In Loving Memory of the Innocent Souls Taken Too Soon. United in peace, their light shines on in the hearts left behind. October 7, 2023, a day of sorrow, but their memories guide us toward a hopeful tomorrow.
Major (res.) Eliyahu Benyamin Elmakayes, z"l, 29, from Jerusalem, served as a an engineering soldier in Battalion 8219, Brigade 551. He made aliyah alone from France at the age of 15 and served as a lone soldier. He was killed during fighting in central Gaza.
Eliyahu was supposed to get married at the beginning of the following week. His family members came to Israel from France to accompany him on the happy occasion, but instead they were forced to bring him to the burial. Raphael, his fiancée's brother, said: "He was a true patriot who always helped others"
