Major Eliran Abergil, z"l, from Netanya, was a police officer in the Operations Coordination Directorate. He fell in battle with the terrorists while protecting the residents of Kibbutz Be'eri. Eliran is survived by his parents, wife and two sisters
His obituaries included:
"A brave warrior, you were not looking for war, but you were imbued with an understanding that it was your time to act. Together with others you acted and in the end you saved the kibbutz. There were many victims, you were among those who stopped the fighting, and defeated the enemy who stood in front of you. With God's help, everyone will return to live in it, first and foremost to be worthy of your fall. A merciful God dwells on high. You live next to him. Have a proper rest on the wings of the Shechinah. warn your soul.. T.N.C.B.H"
"Dear Eliran, my childhood friend, I will never forget your smile, your optimism, how much you loved being around people, how much you loved to help, how much you always wanted to benefit the common good, you were a special person, with joy in life. I miss you.. I can't understand that you are no longer with us."
"Your picture, Eliran, at the end of the sixth grade is burned into my head. A very pleasant boy, responsible, mature and above all purposeful and valuable! One that you choose every time from the first for each task. I met your parents recently and realized how deeply rooted the love of the country and doing things for the other was born from them. The pain is too heavy to bear, so the duty is to make sure that we never forget you and what you represent!"
