In Memoriam of:

Elad Fingerhut

Age: 38

From: Efrat

In Loving Memory of the Innocent Souls Taken Too Soon. United in peace, their light shines on in the hearts left behind. October 7, 2023, a day of sorrow, but their memories guide us toward a hopeful tomorrow.

Elad Fingerhut z"l an Israeli civilian was killed in an anti-tank guided missile attack against a military position near the northern community of Adamit. Fingerhut arrived at the scene to assist in aiding soldiers hurt by a first Hezbollah missile before he was hit by a second guided munition. A third projectile also hit a tether to an IDF surveillance balloon at the military position, leading the balloon to float away and crash in Lebanon. Shimshon Fingerhot, Elad's older brother, told Ynet: "We received the hard news during the Independence Day celebrations. According to what we understood, Elad was having a barbecue with friends at a house that is about 20-30 meters from the military position that was attacked. After hearing the first missile, he left Everything ran to help the soldiers, and even before he arrived he grabbed the second missile. I am the eldest brother and we were in a strong and good relationship, lots of soulful conversations. His brother also said: "Elad loved the Land of Israel and loved to travel in it. In any weather, even in the rain and in difficult places. He was one of the founders of the Amet Habiyar tourist site in Gush Etzion. He renovated it and started its construction. Today it is already a well-known tourist gem. Elad was also one of the founders of the Ivi HaNahal settlements of Gush Etzion and he just loved Israel. I will miss the deep conversations we had together. We had a very special relationship with him, more than regular brothers. We had a very special bond. It's a hard feeling that can't be explained. Some of the family spoke to him hours before the incident, and some at the weekend. He wasn't afraid to be there."
