In Memoriam of:
In Loving Memory of the Innocent Souls Taken Too Soon. United in peace, their light shines on in the hearts left behind. October 7, 2023, a day of sorrow, but their memories guide us toward a hopeful tomorrow.
David Carol, z"l, was murdered in his home in Kibbutz Be'eri by the infiltrating terrorists.
As a kid, David immigrated to Israel from Izmir, Turkey. He grew up in Ramat Gan but wanted to join a kibbutz from age 13.
When he was released from his military service, David returned to Be'eri and worked in carpentry. He loved the work, and also loved building for himself and anyone who asked for shelves for flower pots, and small and large furniture.
In 2017, his son Harel passed away from a serious illness. Carol gathered all his strength and made a decision to continue living happily despite the pain, sadness and longing. He clings to points of happiness such as his daughter and granddaughters, his partner and his family. And managed to enjoy concerts, trips again. Spending time at sea and taking care of the house, garden and friends. About a year ago Erez his son-in-law passed away.
"David was my great cousin, twenty years older than me, but he had a special bond with the five of us sisters - like a big brother we never had. Getting a hug from Carol (that's what everyone called him) was like being wrapped in a giant duvet - he was a big kibbutznik - and his hug was always so strong - from his big heart.
He loved life, held on to it even when there were moments that broke him, he would take a breath and find the beauty in tending his garden, in trips, and in great singing.
His pride in his amazing granddaughters, his love for Lior Lior Bar, his daughter and the true friendship with Orli are what gave him the strength to win everything - almost everything... This evening we were informed that he was identified among the murdered in the inferno in Be'eri.
Rest in peace beloved man."
