Major Ben Sheli (26) from Moshav Kadron, commander of a platoon of fighters in the Special Rescue Tactical Unit (669) was among those who fell in the battle in Shejaia.
A message from Moshav Kadron: "To the Shelli family, parents Carmel and Moshe, and brothers Yam and Mika, we share in your unbearably heavy grief with Receiving the bitter news about the death of the late Major Ben Shali. The entire Kedron family mourns and bows its head." Shali studied at the regional high school named after Y.H. Brenner. Dagan, his high school teacher and army preparation coach, said: "Ben was always an athlete. He was tall, ran fast and always excelled in sports. He was a bright and unusually smart guy and always thought outside the box - things that helped him in his service in the unit. He always was and always was a leader. I already miss him, Ben."
