In Loving Memory of the Innocent Souls Taken Too Soon. United in peace, their light shines on in the hearts left behind. October 7, 2023, a day of sorrow, but their memories guide us toward a hopeful tomorrow.
Barak Ayalon, a member of standby security alert squad in the Lebanese border community of Kfar Yuval, was killed by anti-tank fire at his residence in the Galilee panhandle. "A member of the standby security squad fell while defending the community. We, the members of the emergency squad and the management of the yishuv and the council, bow our heads at his death," the Kfar Yuval municipality announced. Barak's mother, Mira Ayalon, z"l was critically injured in the attack and subsequently passed away from her injuries.
