Avraham Fetena

Corporal Avraham Fetena z"l was killed by terrorists at a checkpoint outside of Jerusalem. He served as a crossing fighter in the Erez Battalion of the military police. Based on evidence and the contents of the car that the terrorists came in, they were planning a much larger massacre in Jerusalem and the actions of the soldiers, including Avraham, saved the city. 
"My son is a hero. He identified four terrorists and prevented a much larger attack in Jerusalem. I am very proud of him," said Aylanesh Fetena, Avraham's mother.  Avraham's stepfather, Bavi Zagaia, who raised him from childhood added that "he was a brave and strong man." According to his parents, Avraham loved the military service, invested a lot and even finished his training as an exemplary trainee. "He was supposed to come tonight for a weekend vacation, but that won't happen. His two little sisters, aged six and four, are waiting for him," they added.  He was born and raised in Tirat HaKarmel, and later his family moved to Haifa. He left behind his parents, a 19-year-old brother and two sisters aged six and four.
