In Memoriam of:

Amir Zur

Age: 23

From: Jerusalem

In Loving Memory of the Innocent Souls Taken Too Soon. United in peace, their light shines on in the hearts left behind. October 7, 2023, a day of sorrow, but their memories guide us toward a hopeful tomorrow.

Lt. Amir Zur z"l, aged 23 from Jerusalem, a valiant paramedic in the esteemed Sayeret Matkal unit. He fell in battle while fighting to save Kibbutz Kfar Aza on October 7, 2023.

Amir's siblings remember him as a joyful child, a top-notch student, and a gifted pianist. His remarkable talents led him to become a national navigation champion during his teenage years, competing on an international stage. He completed an officer's course for the Sayeret Matkal unit with utmost distinction. Amir achieved every goal he set for himself while remaining incredibly modest. His legacy will forever serve as a source of strength, inspiring faith in humanity's capacity for goodness.

As the youngest of four children, Amir was born to parents Yaniv and Esther Zur, who both hailed from kibbutzim in the Negev, founded by relatives who had escaped the terrors of Nazi Europe. Amir is buried in Kibbutz Ga'ash, where his brother Eitan serves as a secular rabbi. He leaves behind his loving parents, Yaniv and Esther, as well as three siblings, Eitan, Ofri, and Tomer.
