In Loving Memory of the Innocent Souls Taken Too Soon. United in peace, their light shines on in the hearts left behind. October 7, 2023, a day of sorrow, but their memories guide us toward a hopeful tomorrow.
Native Californian Adrienne Neta, 66, a retired nurse and reportedly mythical midwife at Soroka Hospital in the southern city of Beersheba, was among those murdered by Hamas terrorists at Kibbutz Be’eri on the Gaza border on October 7.
According to a memorial page for 27 nurses and relatives of nurses who fell on that day, on a Hebrew language website for the nursing profession, Neta was a mother of four and a grandmother who immigrated to the kibbutz from California at the age of 20.
She retired around four years ago, but continued to volunteer at the Rimon Farm in the northern Negev, which uses sustainable agriculture and a supportive community environment to help youth at risk aged 14 to 18.
Kibbutz Be’eri was one of the worst hit by the Hamas onslaught, with 20 percent of its residents killed, abducted or declared missing.
